Camping at Green Mountain Reservoir is Basic Rustic camping, on a first come, first serve Basis.
Drinking Water: Not available. Campers need to bring drinking water from home. Bottled water is available at most Heeney businesses.

Cataract Creek Campground

This small campground with 5 campsites is located in the Cataract Creek drainage just above Green Mountain Reservoir. There are many trails in the area that access the Eagles Nest Wilderness Area.

Directions: From I-70 take Exit 205, Silverthorne/Dillon, and travel north on HWY 9. Travel 16 miles north on HWY 9. Just after mile marker 118 turn left onto Heeney Rd (County Rd 30). Follow Heeney Road for 5.3 miles and turn left onto Cataract Creek Road (FDR 1725). The campground will eventually be on your left.

Prairie Point Campground is located north of Silverthorne, near the upper end of Green Mountain Reservoir along its east side. The reservoir is located 15 miles north of Silverthorne along Hwy 9 and has views of the Williams Fork and Gore mountain ranges. In addition to boating, there are a variety of activities including camping, fishing, picnicking, jet skiing, water skiing, swimming and hiking. Fee stations are located at various locations around the reservoir.

MOST OF THE CAMPGROUNDS ARE FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED, MOST NOW HAVE MARKED SPOTS WITH TABLE AND FIRE RING, SOME CAMPGROUNDS STILL HAVE UNMARKED SPOTS.
RESERVATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR THE COW CREEK SOUTH CAMPGROUND (visit www.recreation.gov to make reservations.)
Please note there is no water available at the campgrounds.
The area businesses cannot provide water for RV's or containers. Most businesses sell bottled water.

RUN BY THE DILLON RANGER DISTRICT OF THE WHITE RIVER NATIONAL FOREST.
Season Passes are available for the Green Mountain Res/Cataract Lake area. CURRENTLY Season Passes are available at the Dillon Ranger Forest Service office in Silverthorne and AT MELODY LODGE CABINS and sometimes from Forest Service personnel at the campgrounds. Currently season passes are $65 - your best value if you will be visiting area for more than 5 days. Season pass is good at all Green Mountain Reservoir Forest Service campgrounds and at Cataract Lake campground. Day parking around the lake and at the Cataract trail head parking area FREE. The pass is not good at the Heeney Marina where parking is $5.
Prairie Point Campground & day parking Boat ramp at McDonald Flats.
Day parking is available at Big Green where there is a gravel boat ramp. Unfortunately some users don't realize it is a ramp and park right in the middle, making it unusable. Please be courteous. Day parking also available at the Heeney Marina ($5) and Davis Springs.
