SNAGGING SEASON - IT'S A KICK!

SNAGGERS SNAGGED  THEIR LIMITS ON OPENING DAY OF SNAGGING SEASON (SEPT 1ST)!!
THEY ARE HERE!!  IN PRAIRIE POINT AREA.


THE  LAKE LEVEL IS DROPPING  -  DOWN ABOUT 4-5' AS OF  SEPT 1.
MCDONALD FLATS AND HEENEY MARINA BOAT RAMPS STILL OPEN FOR LAUNCHING BOATS.
DEPENDING ON HOW FAST THE WATER LEVEL RECEDES, MCDONALD FLATS  MAY CLOSE IN ABOUT A COUPLE WEEKS.  


.The reservoir was built to replace water to the Colorado River that is sent to the Front Range through the Big Thompson Project. It is a storage reservoir so the levels will flucuate as water is called for on the Western Slope.
The Green Mountain Reservoir and Cataract Lake and Falls are under the management of the US Forest Service. For questions related to camp grounds, you can contact The Dillon Ranger District office in Silverthorne - 970-468-5400.
If you recreate at Green Mountain Reservoir or at any Forest Service or BLM land in Colorado, this is your chance to offer input about the fee structures.
